Can I start using charging functions with UPT without having a Heartland account?

No. You have to create an account with Heartland Payment Systems at and setup a Heartland account on the JuiceNet Dashboard. Refer to Set Up Payment Account - Heartland in the JuiceNet Enterprise Manual.
